Monthly Poetry Playlist: Let’s Have Some Peace, Please

Ecc 3:8: A time to love and a time to hate. A time for war and a time for peace.

May represents grace and peace, which is what I hope you will feel when you read these poems, haikus, and short story recommendations.

Fun Fact: I added one of my own

Note: You might get a different feel than I do while reading and listening to the music

1.You Are Hope In Human Being by Nikita Gill

(I love her work) her poems and quote take you to another level, you begin to question life and what is. This is what I love about this piece, even though its fairly new, the words reflect someone with experience and wisdom, someone who understands the meaning of Peace. Love that she posts her work on ig and Tumblr. The poem couples well with Laura Mvula’s Can’t Live with the World because it tells you to continue on your path but to remember who you are.

2. Peace by Langston Hughes

What happens when fighting for peace for brings death? Is peace worth your life? Langston Hughes piece on Peace, makes you question life and the brevity of it all.

3.  Adonis, The Goddess by Jo

Being okay with who you are, being at peace with yourself, never allowing doubt to engulf you. To live your life knowing and being secure with who you are; that within itself brings peace. #Selflove, #acceptance #realizingthatyouareagoddess

4. Blue Vase by Cynthia Zarin *I recently found this page and I’m enjoying reading different poems by unknown poets*

Love can be electrifying, needy, nervewracking, but love can also bring serenity, grace, and a sense of peace *but it also depends on the relationship* I believe the author explained how scary love can be but also how beautiful it is to have someone next to you–which is why I connected this peace with Alina Baraz’s Electric, so much emotion but the song like the poem is simplistic.nervewracking, but love can also bring serenity, grace, and a sense of peace *but it also depends on the relationship* I believe the author explained how scary love can be but also how beautiful it is to have someone next to you–which is why I connected this peace with Alina Baraz’s Electric, so much emotion but the song like the poem is simplistic.

Peace, what exactly is it? Is it the opposite of fear, removing conflict? The definition of peace is different for every individual. Peace to me deals with conflict inside and out, but peace could also mean reminiscing about a memory or drinking tea in my backyard just staring at how beautiful and chaotic the world is.Even falling in love, succeeding at a goal, or making it to the mountain top, brings peace–at least to me, it .Even falling in love, succeeding at a goal, or making it to the mountain top, brings peace–at least to me, it does..Even falling in love, succeeding at a goal, or making it to the mountain top, brings peace–at least to me, it does.
