Prequel: Book In Progress

Book Review

After a month of not reading any book and only reading about writing and writing material, I’ve decided it’s time to return to the land of book reading. To tell you the truth, I really missed reading books, so I had to come back(not to say, I won’t focus on writing). So without further adieu, here is my next Book in Review: Margret Atwood’s, The Handmaids Tale:

Synopsis from Goodreads:

Offred is a Handmaid in the Republic of Gilead. She may leave the home of the Commander and his wife once a day to walk to food markets whose signs are now pictures instead of words because women are no longer allowed to read. She must lie on her back once a month and pray that the Commander makes her pregnant because in an age of declining births, Offred and the other Handmaids are valued only if their ovaries are viable. Offred can remember the years before when she lived and made love with her husband, Luke; when she played with and protected her daughter; when she had a job, money of her own, and access to knowledge.

I haven’t read the book yet, but I can tell I’m going to enjoy it. It has everything I love, politics, mystery, escape, and adventure and the main lead is strong and I feel like I might be able to relate to her.  Stay tuned for my Book in Progress and Review, let me know if you’ve read the book (did you like it?)
